How long does it take to reach Marrakech from Madrid?

I only have 7-8 days to travel in the area, and I am flying into madrid-how much time should i allot for traveling from one city to the other and back, or would it be cheaper to fly?

1. It's certainly not cheaper to fly, but time is money and you can't replace holiday time. I'd allow 2-3 days using train, ferry and bus/train to Marrakech. Bare in mind a lot of time is spent sleeping on the trains if you time it right, but adversely there are issues with waiting on stations, ferry connections and staring out the window. Things you will miss are the Atlas Mountains [ Great ] the sense of distance, but frankly 7-8 days would be better spent in the places you like. I've given you some useful links.
