What do you know about the 81-85 Eldorado and Seville cars?

I found two models I like, but people (not the dealer) are saying the cars are some of the worst ever made. They are classic in design, and the models I am considering are well maintained. Can you advise me? This would be a weekend car for light travel. I don't want to throw money away if these cars are that poor in quality. Thanks

1. these cars are fine the only problems we have come into the shop are minor ones,tune-up etc,I have had a couple that the plastic impeller broke off the shaft for the water pump,no coolant leak or noise just overheating and a ruined engine,they have the usaul tranny problems like most cars but if it is low milage and drives great have your mechanic give it an check over before you buy it
