How can I disable the DRLs on my 2003 Cadillac Seville?

Just bought an 03 Seville and can't abide the running lights. I found the DRL relay in the fuse box, but I know that there are usually wires to snip, etc, and I'm afraid of fooling with the wrong ones. Any advice appreciated!

  1. If you have wires coming out of the relay, somethings very wrong. Check with your local laws first. Some states its illegal to disable drl's if the car has them.
  2. Why are you interested in disabling a safety device, one that may someday call attention to the fact you are on the road and keep somebody from driving into and killing you? Are you suffering from a mental disability? Have you also ripped out your seat belts and airbags?
  3. While I agree that this is a safety device, you asked a question. On many cars, you can pull the emergency brake..or push in the case of a pedal....one or two clicks and it will disable the driving lights. Try it..but now, you may also have an emergency brake warning light. DO NOT go beyond one or two clicks or the emergency brake will drag. Good Luck PS Have you simply tried pulling the DRL relay?
  4. Just take the fuse out.
